4th of July Weekend

While we were in Chicago my dad and Angela came out to visit us for the 4th of July weekend! We only had a short amount of time so we had to do everything we possibly could in 3 days! Day 1; the agenda said that we were going to go see the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum, unfortunately we got a later start than was planned and got stuck in traffic for 3 hours and spent the whole day in the car! By the time we got to the museums they weren't showing any shows anymore and they were closing in 2 hours which is NOT enough time to see anything, they are HUGE! So we bought the cheapest tickets just to walk the first floor of Shedd Aquarium and it was still pretty amazing, but I really couldn't let it go I was so upset that we didn't get to see the whales! But it still turned out to be a fabulous day and I got over it!

This turtle wanted to eat our fingers so bad!

Next we walked to the Taste of Chicago which is a pretty big deal around there. Any restaurant that is anything in Chicago has a booth and its this HUGE food festival.
(That i didnt get any pictures of because it was sooo packed and i didnt want to get my camera out and have someone steal it!)

Walking back to the car along this sidewalk that is right on Lake Michigan
On Saturday we got up bright and early and hit the town! We bought tickets for an Architecture tour on the river through the city. It was amazing, although I didn't get many pictures of that because it was so hot and sunny and Brody was going to get fried so I had to sit downstairs on the boat. Anyways we ate at the cutest little Corner Bakery, walked Michigan Avenue, went to the Face Fountains, saw Millennium Park and The Bean, and finished off with dinner and fireworks at Navy Pier.

Waiting for our Boat Tour

In the middle of the park they have these fountains that randomly show peoples faces from all over the world through the water.. Its pretty crazy and I don't really know how they do it but its awesome!. :)

L is for Loser dad...

More posing at the bean

Navy Pier is really neat, we spent a lot of time there on Saturday. Honestly Lake Michigan looks like the ocean. It is huge!
This is Forest Gump telling people about the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Our view from Lake Michigan on the Anita Dee watching the fireworks.

Lots and Lots of horse poop because there are lots and lots and lots of cops!!

Batman, the new Transformers, and Source Code were all filmed in Chicago.
(and I still rode the Metra after Ty made me watch Source Code; now that is bravery!)
This is what Brody looks like at 1 in the morning, it was a long day!
Sunday we went to the Chicago Cubs vs. The White Sox and it was so much fun! I guess Wrigley Field and Fenway Park are the only 2 fields that haven't updated and gone modern! People were still putting the numbers on the score board by hand!
Brody's first ball game
AMAZING seats! Thanks Dad :)

Holly cow its my First Cubs game!
(we totally stole this sign from the people above us after they left and took pictures with it!)

Brods and Grandps walking through the crazy crowd!

And the Cubs won!! YEAH!
Matching shirts.. ahhh cuuute!
On Monday we slept in and went to breakfast at about noon, then my Dad and Angela packed up and headed back home. It was a really sad day for me :( I hated saying goodbye! It was such a fun weekend and I loved every minute of it! Hands down best fourth ever! I love my family :)

Dad's way kinda Day

Today we had a mission... a mission to find the best pizza in Chicago! And we just might have succeeded! First of all I told Tyler I was not getting on the train (have you seen Source Code? If you have then you understand). But he made me do it and I did survive.. Anyways so we rode the train into town, walked around for a bit and looked at the scenery. I LOVE Chicago so much! It has to be the prettiest city I have ever been too. P.S. If you are questioning the big red blotches all over my body don't be alarmed; I was attacked by every mosquito in Illinois while walking Tucker the other day!!

Riding on the Metra Train

Stopped at the cutest little cafe for refreshments and a black and white cookie!
(Although I went for the Jamba Juice next door)

The Face Fountains in Millennium Park

Taking pictures in the big blob

Eating at Geno's the best pizza in all of Chicago Land!

YUM!

This is what Brody thinks of Victoria's Secret

I want to buy a condo right there in that very spot!

Lets go a Walking!

Walking from Tyler Lambeth on Vimeo.

Brody's newest toy! He was walking with it the next day after we bought it :)

Tyler, Ashlee and Brody go to the ZOO

Today was our first official Chicago adventure! To start the day off there was major traffic! 2nd Ty packed the diaper bag in the back of the truck which wasnt a big deal at first, 3rd Brody was not liking the drive so i was feeding him these cookies as i was eating them.. and then the next thing we know Brody is throwing up Biscoff cookies all over the place and we have no diaper bag or really anything to clean up! But no worries we got it taken care of and the day was wonderful!! :) So if in these pictures your wondering why my child looks a little homeless just keep in mind we have biscoff barf on the shirt, water leakage from the sippy, napkin pieces from cleaning up the water, and maybe some fries and pickle juice along with Cheeto crumies!

Looking so cute before the unfortunate cookie mess

Eating lunch at the Weiner Circle. Ty said its on the Food Network or Man vs Food or something like that. Anyways it was way good! I ordered a hot dog and Brody ate my pickles!

The view driving into down town

We ended up at the Lincoln Park Zoo. You all know that the zoo is my favorite place ever! Every animal that I look at I try to imagine a way that it can come home with me and be my new little baby!

The biggest gorilla I have ever seen in any zoo, his name is JoJo :)

Me and Brods at the monkeys

and to finish off a fabulous day we went to Steak n Shake!

I do realize that Brody and I both look like some real dandies in this picture but the plane was dark and the flash was bright and really this was the best one of like 7!
Me and Brody flying to go see dad

Welcome to the Windy City

If you look really closely you can see a little bitty Tyler in the reflection.

It is that time of year again....... Where we pack up all of our crap into the milk truck (aka Tyler's Toyota) and drive across the country. This year our destination is Chicago, and I'm actually pretty excited to get out and see the city. Tyler has already been out here for about 6 weeks but Brody and I just got here! Remember last time I flew with Brody and I said we were never flying together again until he is 15...Well that's changing this summer A LOT! He was really good for me on the plane though so we should be fine. More fun posts to come YEAH!
