Memorial Day Weekend

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day!

 We celebrated up the mountain in the dirt, and eating BBQ! 

5 Months

At 5 Months Koen is

Not wanting to nurse at all but I am holding strong and making him go at least until 6 months!

He is gaining more weight now that he is having some formula bottles

Mother's Day

I saw a quote today that said "mothers are the only ones who know the true meaning to 24/7!" That is so true! But I think everyone would say they wouldn't trade it for the anything! 

Certain little moments have been melting my heart lately. 

Like the sound of Koen in the morning sucking on his toes and babbling about his sweet dreams. When I am sitting in the rocking chair feeding Koen and Brody jumps into his little coup car and drives it over by me, but not without putting my keys in the ignition first. He sits in the car, examining it and just being patient until I am done and can play again. 

When Koen holds my hand whenever I am holding him, or reaches for Brody's hand while they are laying on the floor together.

When Brody is supposed to be taking a nap he lays by his door and says "Tucker" in the cutest little voice in the world (tu-ter). Tucker goes and lays by his door and waits for him to come out and play some more! 

Motherhood is such a blessing and I couldn't have imagined it being more special!

4 Months

At 4 Months Koen is:

starting to babble all the time

notices when I leave the room and is really upset about it

napping twice a day

not quite sleeping through the night anymore

really good at holding his head up

eating rice cereal and bananas every once in a while

had his first formula bottle, but still nursing 

grabbing and holding onto things

standing up really good with his strong little legs

weighing in at 12lbs even in the 4.5%, and 24 3/4 inches long in the 40%

still such a happy baby boy :)

We got the jumper out for Koen, but Brody doesn't think Koen is quite ready for it so he is just going to use it until then...

Just Visiting

My dad and Angela came out to see us! we always get so excited when they fly out here, especially Brody! We had a really nice time going on walks and being outside in the wonderful spring weather. The visit wasn't long enough, it went by way to fast. But we are so grateful for them and that they make such an effort to always come out and see us!

An update on the Brodster!

Brody Quayle is now 2 and a half and oh my goodness he is ALL boy in every way. He just grew up right before my eyes! 

At 2 here are some things about Brody

He has an attitude like no other

he is starting to broaden his horizons with food

Likes to be clean and have clean surroundings

Loves hats just like dad

He is aware of when he is going potty and he understands what we need to do but for some reason he still isn't quite ready, maybe sometime this summer we will try again!

He is starting to communicate a lot better! He has been going to preschool and he really enjoys it. He is gaining more confidence with speech and starting to use his words, I think he knows how to talk but gets nervous to communicate. Every once is a while he will just say something in a full sentence clear as day and I about fall on the floor! Point being is that he now says around 50 words and can put them together in sentences. He is still a little behind but I feel like he is catching up!

Tucker and Koen are his best friends! He could play with Tuck all day long laughing and running all over the house. He is such an amazing big brother, he cares so much for Koen and loves to give him kisses and hugs, hold him, give him his binkey, and share everything with him!

Still loves all the classic boy stuff; trucks, cars, driving, making the noises.

he isn't napping anymore

Loves electronics and anything that plugs in, turns on, has a switch, clicks, pops, snaps ect.

thinks he is big enough to clip his own finger nails, and Koens

Loves to color with finger paints, crayons, pens anything creative.

He is starting to have a preference in what he wears and when he wears it!

he loves to play tag, football, and basketball.

 He is really into guitars and music. I cant wait till he is a little older and I am going to get him into some lessons!

 Brody had his tonsils out on March 14. They were so big that they were touching each other, Dr. Pearson said they needed to be taken out immediately!

I love this little monkey so much! He makes my day everyday with his contagious laugh and sweet smile. The terrible twos have not been our friend but I know that someday we are going to look back and laugh at the craziness that is our life right now!
